California's Environmental Protection Agency has implemented some of the strongest guidelines for the protection of the environment in the United States. Saturn's strong commitment to manufacturing a quality fastener stands alongside our commitment to protecting the environment. Using these guidelines, Saturn® Fasteners, Inc. is a negative impact emissions company. This means Saturn® does not pollute surface or subsurface soil or water or impact air quality with toxic waste or emissions that could potentially damage our environment.

Under the direction of Craig Kitchen, Director of Safety and Environmental Affairs, cutting oils and lubricants have been developed exclusively for Saturn® Fasteners to reduce toxic exposure to employees and the environment and facilitate waste reduction and recycling. All waste liquids are contained in barrels designed for this purpose and disposed of through waste recycling companies or evaporated off in a specially designed system used at Saturn® Fasteners, Inc..

Producing a quality fastener for the aerospace industry does not have to come at the expense of damaging our environment. Since 1989, Saturn® Fasteners, Inc. has taken pride in doing our part, helping to protect our precious and fragile resources for all of us.

Craig Kitchen attended California State University, Los Angeles and is a Registered Environmental Assessor(REA #05086) in the state of California.
